Mutation, mixed media, approx 74 x 66 x 120 inches, 2022
Mutation was part of the exhibit Forty Nine, in which the Daily Art Habit series becomes source material for explorations of human-scale time and the thresholds, both natural and imposed, we use to mark its passage. Mutation shows the series in a new way, formed as cellular 'pods' and suspended from the ceiling. As time goes on, the cellular structures become strained and change their shapes.
Finally, I cut them from their suspending support, allowing them to crash to the floor and creating a new arrangement, Mutation Aftermath.
